Student visa (E30) required
The university only accepts international students with a student visa (E30). Please keep these rules in mind:
- Apply only through the International Office of the university. It sponsors your visa.
- No other visa types and no external visa agents are allowed.
- The visa fee (currently EUR 350) is paid together with the tuition fee, in one invoice. If you cancel after the application deadline, the visa fee cannot be refunded.
- The university sponsors your visa from 2 weeks before the semester starts until 2 weeks after it ends: enter Indonesia at the earliest 2 weeks before the start and leave at the latest 2 weeks after the end.

Your visa, step by step
- Pay tuition and visa feeYou pay the visa fee together with the tuition fee, in one invoice. Visa processing only starts once all payments have arrived in full.
- Send your documentsYou receive an email listing the documents required, including a residential address in Bali (it can be temporary). Follow the specifications and examples exactly.
- Arrive in BaliEnter Indonesia at the earliest two weeks before your semester starts.
- Exit permit before you leaveAfter your studies, get your Exit Permit Only (EPO) through the International Office before you leave Indonesia.
The rules in detail
Requirements for the student visa (E30)
The university requires all international students to hold a valid student visa (E30) for the whole duration of their studies. Enrollment under any other visa category is not permitted, and using external visa agents is strictly prohibited. All student visa applications are processed exclusively through the university’s International Office, which acts as the official sponsor.
Validity
The student visa is usually issued as a multiple-entry visa and is valid only for the approved study period; the exact validity is set by the Indonesian immigration authorities.
The university sponsors your visa for the semester plus 2 weeks before it starts and 2 weeks after it ends:
- Arrival: you can enter Indonesia at the earliest 2 weeks before the semester starts.
- Departure: you must leave Indonesia at the latest 2 weeks after the semester ends.
Using the visa beyond this period is strictly prohibited. If you want to arrive earlier or travel longer after your studies, plan this outside your student visa, for example as a separate trip after you have left Indonesia. You find the exact semester dates on Dates & Deadlines.
Fees and processing
The current visa fee is EUR 350, but visa fees can change at short notice under Indonesian immigration rules. It must be paid together with the tuition fee (one invoice), and processing starts only after all payments have been received in full.
Cancellation: once the application deadline has passed, the visa fee cannot be refunded, because the visa process has already started.
The university sponsors your visa, but all visa-related fees are paid by the student. Incomplete, incorrect or non-compliant documents can cause delays, loss of the visa fee and extra costs, for which the student is fully responsible.
Leaving Indonesia: the exit permit (EPO)
When your studies are over, you need an Exit Permit Only (EPO) before you leave Indonesia. The EPO formally ends your student visa and is processed through the university’s International Office in line with Indonesian immigration rules. Leaving without an EPO can lead to immigration penalties or administrative problems.
