It is our turn again this week and we want to tell you about our trip to Ubud. We have been to Ubud a few times now, as it is just one of our favourite places to go around here. Also, it is great when wanting show your visitors some wonderful places in Bali. Something we already worte about was the Monkey Forest, which is always a fun attraction. This time we are coming to a little more cultural and natural spot. We had a look at the Tegalalang rice terraces and the Tierta Empul temple.
The rice terraces were absolutely worth the steps. Yes, thats right.. there are no elevators around to take you anywhere. But the beautiful and unique places are not the ones that are easy to reach. It did take some steos up and down, but to see the green landscape, it seems to be a very small challenge. Also, we managed Mount Batur.. No steps can stop us now. 😀
We took some stunning fotos on top of the terraces.. Which will find a perfect place in our Bali album.
Reaching the temple we were expecting to have a swim in the holy springs, which we were pretty excited about. However, as we reached the temple we were already surprised by the amount of people around at that time of day. As it was our last stop of our trip it was very close to sunset, which actually made us think that we could be quite lonely around the attraction. Wrong!
This is what it really looked liked. A huge bunch of people crowded in the water waiting for their quick bath unter the holy springs. It was absolutely crazy and we decided to try another time, as it would have taken us ages to actually get under water. And we honestly must say it took away a little of the magic we imagined. A little swim in the empty holy water, unluckily not what we got. However, it was a funny and great experience and a recommendation from our side.. We fo wish you luck, that you will have a lonely swim in the springs!
Well thanks for popping into our blog today.. We will tell you about another stop.. One of our favourites so far tomorrow. Look forward!
