Another amazing trip of mine was Ubud. I heard great story about this place. Therefore I’ve been very curious. We drove about 45 minutes from Kerrobokan to Ubud, which was pretty much okay. I enjoyed every meter we drove out of the city. On the way we saw rice fields, palms, flowers and forrests. It’s awesome to escape the city. The sunlight was insanely extreme. Causing intense heat when we arrived. But first of all we had a nice breakfast at a local restaurant. After eating Indonesian dishes from day to day, you’re quite happy having a good old fashioned sandwich in front of you 😀 After lunch, we went to a local market. It was yet again impressive. All kinds of fruit, vegetables, crafts, art, toys. Just everything. It was interesting that the prices in Ubud are cheaper than the ones in Seminyak or Kuta. Especially girls enjoy it, because of so many clothes. There were even scarfs made of real silk or pashmina. Another interesting place is the Lotus temple (hidden near a Starbucks entry :D). Beautiful Lotus flowers around a temple. We also knew about ricefields there, so we took a long way out of Ubud city. It was really warm, but it was totally worth it! The ricefields are literally the greenest thing I’ve ever seen. Did you know that planting rice is a really hard job?
Finally at the end of our trip, we went to the famous monkey forrest. You can buy little bananas and feed these little animals. They climb on your shoulder and grab the banana. But sometimes they ca be really naughty! They steal your sunglasses or earrings. So beware! At the same time it was so amazing seeing similarities between apes and humans. For example the relationship between baby apes and their mothers. You can see how much they care about each other.
All in all I had an great time! Ubud is a must see!
