Hello everyone! It’s us again, Helen & Kristin.
Today ist he first day of our mid term break, which is about 14 days. That means we just finished the first half of our semester, and the first exams are over. Of course, we already have great plans for these two weeks like for example a trip to the three Gili Islands we will tell you about afterwards. But for now, something about our trip to the famous Padang-Padang Beach. Some of you may have already heard about it, because one scene of the wellknown film „eatpraylove“ with Julia Roberts was filmed there. With our three friends from Germany who arrived on saturday and stay with us for two weeks we drove down to Uluwatu, where the beach is. It took us about 45 minutes to go there from Kuta where we’re living. Finally arrived there, we had to walk down steep stairs to reach the beautiful beach, where we surprisingly met a monkey. One of our friends was nearly shocked- but don’t be scared, normally they are peaceful if you don’t stress them.
Our first impressions – overwhelming cliffs, nearly white sand and crystal clear water. See yourself! Being there for about two minutes a nice local lady offered us an umbrella, which was definitely needed because it was just too hot to lay down in the sun without any shadow. We stayed there for about four hours, took many baths (and of course many photos :D) , tannend ourselves and had a fruit salad in the end.
In the evening we just enjoyed a pizza at pizza hut, down at the Kuta beach.
So that was it for today- we have to go to bed very early, because we’ll be picked up at 2am for a tour to the Mount Batur volcano in Kintamani – Look foward to amazing pictures!
