Hello it’s us again! Hope you enjoyed yesterdays post!:-)
As we promised, today it’s all about our two day trip to Nusa Lembongan in the South. First of all our alarm clock went at 6:30 in the morning, on the weekend. First thought “this trip better be good!”. Tell you what – it was!
We were picked up and brought to the harbour, where a speed boat took us over in about 30 minutes to the island. We were very lucky that the waves weren’t so strong, otherwise we would have had a second shower in the morning. After we were stuck just before the harbour and about 7 guys had to help pushing the boat, we arrived safe and sound to Nusa Lembongan. As our fridge was empty in the morning and we just love to have breakfast, the first thing we looked for was a bed and a restaurant. We found both in one. It was amazing, just 18 euros for a luxury-like room with views over the ocean, infinity pool and beautiful rooms. It was a great start and after we had eaten we were looking forward to what the island had to offer.
We booked a driver who drove us around the island to every little corner with his safari car. We hopped into a very little boat which took us slowly down a river between mangrove trees, drove up a hill to a viewing point which even made us chatter boxes silent for a moment and ended at dream beach, where we saw waves crashing up the cliffs so high we had never seen before. Watching the sun go down behind them, turning everything orange and yellow summed up the day perfectly.
The next morning started very early again, as we booked our snorkeling tour. After we had a really good cheese sandwich (can’t find them here very often) we were picked up right down at the beach, jumped into the boat and went off into the ocean. We saw fish and corals in all colours, which nearly made us forget how exhausting it was to swim against the waves. The waves were a little challenge, but also that was worth the risk and overcome our fear, we were mindblown how beautiful it can be underwater. At our last snorkeling spot we saw fish half as big as we were.. That was just amazing! After all the positive and sometimes negative stress, we fell in bed in the evening and filled our own little photobook with memories no one can take.
Thank you Nusa Lembongan and all your many helpers, that made these two days unforgettable. 🙂
There we go, that was it of us for this week. Looking forward what might happen that we can tell you about next week. Keep it up!
Goodbye, see you next week! Kristin &Helen 🙂
