Hello again from Helen and Kristin! 🙂
Hope you all enjoyed our last post about the Mount Batur. Our semester break is nearly over, so that after two weeks we have to go back to university next wednesday. We did lots of trips during our holidays, but we aren’t able to put all of our experiences in one post. But today we will tell you something about our three day trip to the Gili Islands, which we did with our three friends from Germany (there are home again now 🙁 ).
As some of you may know, there are three islands that are very popular – Gili Trawangan, Gili Air and Gili Meno. We decided to go first to Gili Trawangan, which is the largest of the islands and then stop at Gili Air – the second smallest of the islands, so that we had something like a contrast in our trip.
Finally arrvied on Gili Trawangan, we decided to have lunch in a small, but very cute restaurant, located at the beach. After having sandwiches and burgers we directly went to the famous swings on the beach and took lots of photos – See yourself!
The next morning a local boat took us to Gili Air, where we booked a private snorkeling tour, with about five stops at famous snorkeling points and had lunch at Gili Meno. Because Gili Meno is very small and smiliar to Gili Air, we decided that we don’t need to stay there for a whole day.
During the snorkeling tour, we saw beautiful corals and fishes and of course : TURTLES! 🙂 It was just amazing to swim nearly next to them, and watching their way through the sea.
So that was it for today. Hope you enjoyed our post and the beautiful pictures. Look forward to our next one!
Yours, Helen & Kristin
