Hey guys, welcome back!
This week was pretty exciting, because we got to do a lot of fun stuff! Wednesday through friday I go to University. I chose the major Tourism Management. GoBali lets you choose between three diffrent majors: Leadership & Entrepreneurship, Supply Chain Management & Logistics and Tourism Management. I was suprised that my class is so small, only 14 people chose Tourism Management this year. Very strange, because Bali has so much to do with Toursim. I like my major a lot and having a small class is awesome! In Bahasa Indonesia we learn a lot, because everything is so personal. Our teacher is really good and we have to talk a lot. Our Tourism Product Professor is really young, funny and a good teacher. I like his class the best. I am in school until 2.15pm on wednesdays and thursdays and until 1.15pm on fridays, which is okay because I still can go to the beach, what I did a lot this week. Usually we hang out at Double Six Beach in Seminyak because it is only 15 minutes away from where I live, but we also tried Canggu Beach, which is nice too!
I live in Kerobokan, like most students. The way to university is longer, like 40 minutes but the way to Kuta, Seminyak ( shopping, clubs and beaches ) is only 15 minutes. That is why a lot of students pick this area to live in.
This week was my birthday so we had a little get together with friends and my roommates which I all met through GoBali. A little Poolparty never killed nobody, like Fergie would say ;-). I had a really fun day and even got presents and a cake :-).
On the weekend we checked out the club-live in Seminyak. We went to Koh Club because there was a german DJ and to La Farvella, which is one of my favourites, because they play good music, no entry fee and the location is pretty cool! Always go in a group and it is best not to take a cellphone with you, it may be stolen. We usually take a taxi to the club and back, and again – use the Blue Bird Taxis! Another awesome location is Sky Garden in Kuta. For 100.000 Ruphia, which is around 7/8 Euros you get 4 hours free drinks and buffet. We went there twice this week beacause it is so good and cheap! It is every day from 5-9pm and the food differs from day to day.
On Saturday GoBali organized a surfing lesson for everyone who was interested. We were around 50 people that is why we split in two groups. I was in group one and we had really nice teachers who did a great job. I have been surfing before, so it was not anything new to me, but a lot of people who did it the first time really liked it and will continue doing it. After surfing me and my friends tried an indonesien Warung (restaurant). I like to discover new places and food, but this time 6 of us had a sick stomach afterwards, so be careful where you eat. Indonesian people do not really care for cleanness so always check the place and especially the cooks hands before you decide to eat there. Sometimes you will discover awesome places and sometimes it was a one time thing. I can only encourage you to go and check out new places with friends or by yourself. No risk, no fun :-)!
Tomorrow a new day of university starts and I hope there is an interesting week ahead. I will keep you updated, and I hope you will join me on my journey!
