A few days ago, we left Sydney and took the nighttrain to Melbourne, which was the cheapest way to get there. We only paid 50 Dollars. The train left at 08:30 pm in Sydney and we arrived in Melbourne at 07:30 am. It was such a long journey and i became a little bit sick, that’s why it seemed more exhausting than it was anyway. For today we booked a tour to the Great Ocean Road, which is one of the most famous sights near Melbourne. We should be pick up at our hostel at 7:25 am. We were not the only one waiting for it. There were other backpacker, but everybody booked it with another tour. In Australia there are so many companies, which offer the same tours for the same price and it’s so hard to decide which one to take. So while we were waiting there, everybody was pick up excepting us. We have waited until 08:00 am and nobody came. So we went to the reception of our hostel asking them to call the company. How could it be otherwise, something went wrong with the reservation. We were not in their registration system. They were very sorry for us and have offered us doing the great ocean road tomorrow and for today the Phillip island tour for free. So this was quite a good deal, especially we wanted to go there anyway. The pick up time for that tour was 10:00 am. Our driver and tour guide was very nice and told us a lot of interesting things. First stop was the Australian Wildlife Park, where we got our lunch. In the park we had the opportunity watching Koalas, Kangaroos, Emus, Wombats, Dingoes, Tasmanian Devils and coloured native birds. Ir was also possible taking some pictures with one of the koalas, but therefore you had to pay extra. After that we went to Woolamai Beach and to the Nobbies. When we went to the Nobbies, you had the feeling of being in Ireland and not in Australia. Everything was so beautiful green. Our last stop and the most exciting stop was the penguin parade. Every night the little penguins waddle up the beach and return to their caves in the sand dunes. It was so cute watching them, but unfortunately it’s not allowed taking pictures of them, cause they could get blind of the flash. It was wort doing that tour especially for free. So in the end, it was better for us, that they forgot us.
