As you might know from my recent blogposts I am a real motorcycle fanatic. So last weekend I did what I wanted to do for a long time – riding an offroad bike in the beautiful nature of Bali.
I got picked up by a cool Balinese guy called Putu, with whom I drove about 2h to “Virgin beach” on the east cost of Bali. There I got my equipment and safety gear and could choose one of the Kawasaki motocross-bikes I wanted. Then Adi, my tour guide, a little Balinese boy and me started our tour. First we drove around the beach and then we headed up a little hill. On the peak we stopped to take a few pictures and enjoyed the great view. Then we continued and raced on dirt roads, through the jungle and on tiny mountain roads. It was very exhausting and hot- but I had great fun riding these hidden tracks. Adi was very friendly and helpful and he showed me parts of Bali, which you wouldn`t reach by foot. After cruising around near Gunung Agung we had to go back to our starting point.
We then parked our bikes in the garage of Putu´s friend and set down to relax. Putu´s friend immediately offered us some cold drinks and put a bottle of Whiskey on the table for us. So we sat there chilling, drinking some Whiskey and talking about motorbikes for two hours. I felt great and we had a lot of fun this day.
For me it was one of the best experiences I had so far in Bali and I definitely want to go riding with these guys again.
