Hello my friends,
just arrived at home.
From Sunday till Tuesday I went to Nusa Lembongan Island. The trip was much faster than the one to the Gilis and not so hard. It took about 20 minutes and in my opinion it was even better. Sure…the Gili Islands are small and cute and you can hang around at the beach or go snorkelling buuuut on Lembongan Islands you have the same beautiful beaches and much more. If you choose to have more Adventure during your trip, you should go for Lembongan because you can explore the Island on your own and this is what makes it a lot of fun if you are with a good party.
After checking in the hotel we rented a scooter- don’t even ask about an helmet, all they will do is laugh and say that there is no police. And don’t wonder about the little kids driving a scooter, I think they learn how to drive a scooter before learning how to walk.
Anyway, we drove to the Panorama point of Lembongan, it was such an incredible view. I think the picture can’t give you the same feeling as being there and see the beauty of the little port framed by turquoise water yourself.
After taking some pictures -of course- we drove to Dream Beach, which was definitely the prettiest one I have seen so far. Postcard-like turquoise water, white sand and secluded from tourism.
At the next day we went to the island Nusa Ceningan, which is connected to the Nusa Lembongan island by a bridge. It was a really interesting experience for me, because there I had the opportunity to see the real way of life of the locals. We drove through the little village and had some really different insights like the earning of the seaweed, the butchering of chicken and the really traditional rooster fight.
It was very impressive to see how much money the locals bet on those fights. Later after beach time we tried to hunt the sun to get to the sunset point which was also amazing, because we had a frontal view to the sun. Afterwards we decided to go out for dinner and if you guys decide to go there I really really can recommend to go to the Suka Nusa Restaurant. I have never ever had such a yummi Milkshake. And the food was delicious.
As my mate would say : “ Life is better at the beach “
