Today I made a trip to Kintamani. Kintamani is located at the rim of the huge Batur caldera about 1,500m above sea level, and offer dramatic views of the active volcano Mount Batur and serene Lake Batur. I went there by scooter which is a ride of approximately 2 hours from Kerobokan, Bali. We stopped at a restaurant at the main street in Kintamani and sat down on the terrace with a great view on the Mount Batur. Together with around 3 busloads of Japanese and Korean we enjoyed the view of the huge area and had a nice dinner. The Japanese around us did destroy the atmosphere a bit by taking thousand of pictures in front of the vulcano and makind a lot of noise. But having a look at the vulcano, you can see the lava flows that is still there from the lava eruption years ago. Also you can see how the nature took back its place . Also the sea at the Mount Batur was nice to see and everything had a calm atmospehere, although it is kind of scary that the vulcano is still active. Kintamani is definitely worth a visit. there is not much to say about the place, just visit it and see it yourself!
