Bye bye mid test, hello semester break, so now what to do? Some of my friends go to the Philippines, some to Australia, but I wanted to stay in Indonesia, because there are so many different paradise like places to see. A new friend of mine asked me to follow him to Lombok. But before we went there we made a little tour through the North of Bali.
So we took our backpacks and our scooters and drove to Ubud, a nice place which you can visit a few times. I was there at the beginning of my study in Bali, but now we didn´t go to Monkey Forest, we just follow the street, found art markets and good warungs. We had a little nice hotel, where we went into the pool by night, when the sky was dark.
The next day we drove with our scooters up to the North to find the rice fields and the Batur. We climbed up the volcano a few weeks ago, but we wanted to see the villages around and the volcano from the bottom. The sky was cloudy but we had a wonderful view. The village is silent without too much tourism.
Then we continued our way to find the beautiful rice fields. You can see many of them from the street, but you have to go into the small ways and go in to find the most beautiful hiden rice fields. We found a wonderful pond in the terraces where the Indonesians came to wash themselves and they invited us to do it too. I think it was an experience which nobody else had and we had much fun.
Then we drove to Padang Bay to get the public ferry with our scooters to go to Lombok, but this is another adventure…
