Health and Safety

To ensure that your semester abroad is going to be a healthy and safe adventure, here are some helpful resources and considerations.

All international students participating in an international program at Udayana University must have travel health insurance coverage valid in Indonesia for the full length of the semester, as well as emergency travel assistance to cover medical and security evacuation. The insurance policy is not yet required at the time of registration. However, it must be available on request at any time.

Vaccinations

Vaccinations are an important preparation for a healthy semester abroad and depend on your exact travel plan.

Bali is largely free from unusual tropical diseases. Nevertheless, in addition to refreshing the standard vaccinations, we recommend vaccinations against hepatitis A and typhoid. For planned trips to remote areas we also recommend vaccinations against hepatitis B, Japanese encephalitis and the taking of malaria tablets. We also recommend that you keep your international vaccination certificate with you when traveling. For short-term decision-makers, it is also okay to fly to Bali without vaccinations. All vaccinations are also available in Bali.
