What about groceries in Indonesia? I was curious what kinds of sweets and drinks indonesia has to offer. I can tell you two words which summarize the most of the experience I had with the snacks and beverages : extremely sweet. I mean I like sweet stuff, but this amount of sugar blew my mind 😀 If you want to find decent products you need to try out most of them in order to fine the ones that meet you needs. You also have international sweets and crisps like Tim Tams from Australia or Lays. The funniest thing is when you go to some supermarkets, the music is turned up so loud. It kind of feels like a techno club. Sometimes you just need a good beer. The best is definately the „Bintang“ eer is called „Anker“, which is also okay. A little tip on the side: Ask for a lime slice, so you can put into your beer. It makes it more awesome at it is. I also wanted to go to a little more traditional places. So I decided to go to a local night market. These markets are full of products local people like to consume. I bought some fruit there. Some Mangos, Mangosteens, Snakefruit and a Dragonfruit. Everything was quite cheap and so tasteful. I’m worried. When I go back to Germany the fruit will never taste like this over there. The only thing I really miss is a good cheese. Cheese is so expensive here ( and not even good).
