Hey guys, this is me, Patty, and I´m pretty lucky these days because my german friends are visiting me for a few days.
They stayed of course in the same guest house like me, because this is the most comfortable solution for easy communication. When they arrived, one of the first questions was: So, what can we do here in Uluwatu? Well, quite enough…
At first they visited the Garuda Wisnu Kencana (GWK). That´s a cultural park devoted to the Hindu God Vishnu and his mount, Garuda, the mythical bird who become his companion. You can watch there the great statue of Vishna and a theater play called „The legend of Garuda”. It costs about 100.000 Rp. (6€), which is according to my friends pretty expansive for the more unspectacular performance.
On the next day we were at the beach of Uluwatu and they were really amazed by that beautiful location. You´ll find there gorgeous cliffs, who were building kind of caves. In combination with the blue ocean this all draws a breathtaking picture. Besides we were swimming and snorkeling there. It´s never getting boring, especially because you can always watch the surfers on one of the most famous waves on earth.
The second attraction they did in Uluwatu was visiting the Kekac and Fire Dance at the Uluwatu Temple. Not just that there´s a stunning view for the sunset, but you can also experience the culture of Bali. Their sounds, costumes and stories are pretty fascinating and entertaining.
Last but not least you can try surfing at Padang Padang. You can rent a surfboard for 50.000 Rp. per hour and if you want, there are also surf teachers. My friends had really fun in the waves, although that sport is very difficult.
Now we went to Ubud. You can read in my next report what we experienced there.
Until then, see you guys 😉
Love, Patty
