In order to get to Bali you need to book a flight to Denpasar airport (airport code DPS).
Unfortunately, there aren’t many direct flights to Bali, especially if you are flying from Europe, or US. Bali caters most to its neighboring Asian countries and have much shorter flights to reach Bali. Those coming from Australia will have one, or sometimes two connecting flights as well. Be ready for a total trip of around 20-25 hours if you are coming the US, or European country.
All big airlines will book you through until your final destination, using their partnerships with other airlines. So you don’t have to collect your baggage and recheck them during your connecting flight. This makes your travels less stressful and more convenient.

The Denpasar airport is conveniently located near all of the most popular tourist destinations south of Bali. Approximately 15 minutes to Kuta, 20 minutes to Seminyak, 30 minutes to Nusa Dua, Uluwatu, Canggu, and1.5 hours to Ubud.
Upon arrival, there are several taxis with fixed prices based on the distance you would like to go. To book a taxi, go to a special counter located inside the airport. Prices are around 10-15$ for a car that can fit up to 4-5 people, depending on how much luggage you have.
Some taxi drivers will try to ask you for extra money if you are traveling with a surfboard bag. Normally you are not supposed to pay extra.
If you stay in the hotel, ask to send a car to pick you up in the airport. This service would cost 15-20$ for a car.
