Some of you may ask yourself: How does it work being a blogger for the GoBali study abroad program. Is it fun? Are there complications? What’s the best or are there things that go on ones nerves?
From my personal point of view, I like writing the blog for the GoBali program as my University project. I also have a personal blog, so I would like to produce the content anyways. I can kill two birds with one stone. When I’m tired of writing for my personal blog, the schedule of my blogging team forces me to write a report – so both blogs are always filled up with content – at least one time in the week.
Besides, I’m studying Communication- and Multimediamanagement. So I’m relative affine to Photography, Video production and Online stuff like creating an own blog respectively writing for an Online Blog towards a certain topic. In addition, keeping in mind that I want to write a report about a certain topic, I always carry a camera – sometimes its just a smartphone – but so you are able to catch an impressive moment with a photo.
Of course, there are also things which are going on my nerves. There is one big problem in Indonesia: INTERNET. In other words, at the very least it’s an individual problem of our Villa, where we are living at. Until today we don’t dispose of a working wifi-internet-connection. So I always tried to upload my blog posts, including minimum 5-10 picures, in making a hotspot with my Smartphone. But there are two problems:
- The connection often doesn’t last out to upload pictures.
- With time it is very expensive to reload your mobile data when you are using a Smartphone hotspot for surfing with your laptop.
Fortunately my housemate found the lovely Café Mokka in Seminyak (http://www.cafemokabali.com). So in the last time, I always come to this place, currently I’m sitting there, order a really good coffe, croissants, cake or baguette, write my reports, edit my pictures with photoshop, listen to my favorite music with headphones and upload the blog post without being forced to keep the fingers crossed that it will work. By the way, there is a very friendly stuff and I sometimes try to improve my Bahasa Indonesia with them.
So, if one of you readers plan to write an own blog: Take your time, chose a handsome theme (for example with www.tumblr.com / www.wordpress.com), personalize the blog and start being creative in producing content. For me it’s the perfect way to play out creativity and distribute my experiences to people at home in Germany, or my international friends anywhere in the world.
Stay tuned, feel free to also follow my personal blog and start being a blogger.
