At weekends in Bali, my friends and I like to go out to enjoy a tasty breakfast. Especially after some long nights of dancing and drinking, it’s fun to meet up with your friends to recap the last night while having a huge breakfast.
The best address for having an all you can eat western style brunch is the Casa d’Angelos in Jalan Gunung Salak in Kerebokan owned by a polish baker. The café offers a huge buffet from 10 am. – 2.30 pm – every Saturday and Sunday for affordable 60k with free hot chocolate and tea on the side. Just a short overview about the tasty food:
Quiche, different salads, wholemeal bread, cold meat, pizza, vegetables, fruits, croissant, with marmalade, pastries and lots of other sweet stuff. It’s amazing – but be careful. After 2 hours sitting and eating like kings you suffer from being overloaded and need a small nap.
Another address, for people who prefer fancy cafés with lots of curious art and creative decoration, I can suggest to go to Babar Café in Jalan Seminyak.
Last weekend we were heading for a new nice place for Saturday morning breakfast and ended up there. I can tell you, I also went home fed up and very happy.
I take this Café as my second recommendation, as I was very surprised and impressed about the art and decoration. Even the toilet was decorated with fancy art, as you can see on the pictures below. Talking with a waiter, I got to know, that it is owned by a French guy, who married a Balinese woman. Personally, I had the impression that the mix between French and Balinese culture and taste is the matter, whicht makes the Café unique in Bali.
These are just two short recommendations. Certainly, there are lots of more individual, fancy cafés, for example in Canggu and Umalas. But you will read more about that after end of semester in our extensive guide, which is already in progress.
Keep calm and drink good coffee. 😉
