Yesterday I finally went to Ubud..the way via Denpasar was faser than I expected and Denpasar is prettier than I thought. I found a very nice place in AirBnb..There were 4 apartments located in the middle of a ricefield in central location. The owner and his wife were very friendly, they just opened it. A pool with view to the ricefields and sunset was refreshing and fresh green vegetable drinks and fruit juices were served as well as a brekfast with tea, omelett and fruit salad. I also joined a photo shot and short video clip as promotion for the website. It was just 2 minutes to the monkey forest, which I explored first. It can be scary, if you see how monkeys steal stuff from tourists or they fight which each other. But the monkey park looks really amazing, it looks like a jungle, very green and nicely built. The monkey forest is definitely a place to see in Ubud.
I was surprised that there were not really ricefields on the way to Ubud, but just some minutes outside of the city you can see the ricefields you have seen from many pictures of Bali. Ubud is full of nice restaurants for a nice dinner and there is so much art to see in the city. I went to a market where they sold nice pictures for 100 – 300k IDR. The one and a half day in Ubud was too short, so I defintely have to come back and will go further north to do some river rafting, yoga or go to the vulcano.
On the way back I drove over Sanur and tried my new go pro during a short snorkeling session. Now I have more motivations to surf more often, so I can make nice surf videos with the Go-Pro. Besides I met some nice Indonesian guys who wanna hang out with me and show me around in Denpasar or play futsal.
